Our Board of Directors consists of people who live, work, and in some cases, were born, in the Feather River Watershed.

Bob Cobb, President
Quincy
Chair, Finance Committee
Feather River Land Trust

Bob is a retired business man and a founding member of the Feather River Land Trust. A former board member of the Conference and Retreat Center of the Episcopal Diocese of California, he is also active with the High Sierra Animal Rescue. He has been a full-time Quincy resident since 1998. Bob enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family, including his dog, Toby.

Betsy Kraemer, Vice President
Genesee Valley

Betsy is President and, until retirement last year co-owner of Walt Kraemer Creative Services a radio, TV and film production company. She is the Treasurer of the Red Clover Creek Recreation Association and was an archivist for the Sausalito Historical Society before moving to Genesee. Betsy is currently managing the Heart K Ranch for the Land Trust. She and her Bernese Mountain dog, Cordelia, daily enjoy all the activities available in the Genesee Valley.

Tom Wood, Secretary
Quincy
Chair, Land Protection Committee

Tom is a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Plumas District Hospital. Although born in Plumas County, it wasn't until he graduated from the University of Northern Reno that he lived in Plumas County full-time. Tom enjoys fly-fishing and exploring the region's back roads. He is currently serving his second term on the board.

Elizabeth McMorrow, Treasurer
Quincy

Beth Graduated in 1972 from Humboldt State with a degree in Environmental Geography and a minor in Natural Resources. She has been a member of the community for 35 years and initially worked for Plumas County as a cartographer and assistant to the environmental planner. In 1989, she went back to school and earned her teaching credential. She then taught middle school and high school math and science for 19 years. She loves to hike, garden, travel and to spend time with her friends and family.

Bob Battagin
Oakland

Bob is a semi-retired property manager and founding member of the Feather River Land Trust. Although residing in Oakland, CA he frequents Plumas County visiting family and friends, camping, and exploring its myriad of natural habitats. An avid birdwatcher and botanist, he rarely misses a chance to roam the near and far corners of Plumas County in search of flora, fauna, and mountain magic.

Carl Chavez
Graeagle

Carl Chavez is a graduate of Humboldt State College. He retired in 1998 as Northern Division Chief for all State Parks in Northern California after a 33-year career with the California Department of Parks and Recreation. In 1985 he was named the Department’s first “Superintendent of the Year.” Carl is the author of A Pathway Through Parks: A Park Ranger’s Reminiscing. He and his wife, Margaret, reside in Graeagle, near Plumas-Eureka State Park – a park he once managed.

Trina Cunningham
Indian Valley

Trina is a native of Plumas County. She is a member of the Maidu Summit Group, pursuing Maidu ecological education and cultural perpetuity. Trina enjoys the many aspects of working and living in Plumas County

Pat Fites
Graeagle

Pat Fites joined the FRLT Board of Directors in November, 2008. She is a longtime resident of Plumas County with concerns for the conservation and preservation of the area's natural resources. As a long-time supporter of FRLT, it was a natural decision to become a board member. Pat liked the thought of being part of a team that was working to protect the lands and resources of the area that she loves. Pat is a longtime docent at Plumas Eureka State Park and a member of the Johnsville Historical Society. She was a charter member of the Plumas County Arts Commission (now Plumas Arts), and she served as Treasurer of the Eastern Plumas District Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Pat enjoys hiking and bird watching in our beautiful mountains.

Ken Roby
Greenville

Ken Roby recently retired after a long career with the US Forest Service, where he worked as a fisheries biologist and hydrologist. Ken, who holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from UC Berkeley, currently works as a consultant, specializing in watershed and aquatic resource management. Ken and his wife Marsha are long time residents of Indian Valley, where he can frequently be found hiking or riding his bicycle.
