Paul Hardy, Executive Director
Quincy
Paul was born and raised in Portola and is a founder of the Feather
River Land Trust. A wildlife biologist by training. Paul and his wife
Rhonda moved back to Plumas County in 1998. He enjoys spending time
with his family and friends, and cherishes the opportunity to share the
places he loves with his wife Rhonda and their daughter, Emmalyn
and their son Drew.
Jason Moghaddas, Conservation Director
Indian Valley
Prior to joining FRLT, Jason worked as a Fire Ecologist on the Plumas National Forest. He also worked as a Staff Researcher at the Fire Science Lab at UC Berkeley. Jason holds a B.S. in Wildlife Management, an M.S. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management and is a Registered Professional Forester. Jason and his family have lived and worked in Plumas County for six years.
Susan Payne, Operations Director
Meadow Valley
Susan is a business consultant and accountant. Before
moving to Plumas County Susan was a Director with the Loma
Prieta Community Foundation and served as its Treasurer for over ten
years. She is a founding member of Sierra Farmstead and is currently Secretary of their Board of Directors. Susan has a degree in horticulture and enjoys working in her garden and sharing her knowledge of soil, gardening techniques and plant propagation with others..
Karen Kleven, Development Director
Quincy
Karen Kleven has a background in social finance and non-profit management, previously working as an investment advisor in Marin County from 1999 - 2006 and a division director at Plumas Rural Services (a non-profit social service organization) from 1988-1999. She has been exploring the power of money for several years and is committed to moving as much money as possible toward creating a better world, including preserving and protecting beautiful natural areas for present and future generations. She holds a BA from Lewis and Clark in History and a MA from CSU, Chico in Recreation Administration.
Katie Bagby, Development Associate
Quincy
Katie was born in the Midwest, raised in the Old West, and has been in the Pacific West since 1985. She moved to Plumas County in 2002 and fell in love with this land and its communities. Katie brings 20 years of non-profit experience, working to help make people and land healthier. She holds a Masters degree in Sociology with a focus on Environment and Community from Washington State University. A former FRLT board member (2004-2007), Katie is thrilled to be working with the Land Trust, and attracting like-minded people to dedicate our best resources to conserve this magnificent place, and our relationship to it.
Gabe Miller, Stewardship Coordinator
Taylorsville
Gabe came to Plumas County in 1994 to attend Feather River College and later graduated from CSU, Humboldt with a degree in Natural Resource Planning. Before joining FRLT, he worked for the Sierra Valley Resource Conservation District and the Plumas National Forest Interpretive Association. Gabe has extensive experience in on-the-ground weed management, watershed restoration, and natural resources education. He has been working closely with the agricultural community and local landowners for the past five years. In his spare time Gabe enjoys snorkeling local creeks, playing ultimate disc and hiking the trails and peaks of the Sierra. Gabe was recently married to Elizabeth Powell who shares his love of family, friends and good food.
Betty Moura, Development Assistant
Quincy
Betty Moura was born and raised in the Bay Area. She attended San Jose State College and then worked for the University of California, Berkeley as a Contract and Grant Administrator. She then held a position as Personnel Administrator at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory until she relocated with her husband, Robert Cobb, to Quincy in 1998. She worked as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools at Plumas Unified School District until her retirement in 2010. She and Bob have a passion for the beauty and peace of Plumas County.
Robert Wade, Learning Landscapes Contractor
Meadow Valley
Rob is a K-14 educator specializing in place-based learning in the Feather River Watershed. Rob coordinates FRLT’s signature conservation and education program, Learning Landscapes. He is also Director of the Feather River Outdoor School, Coordinator of the Plumas County School's Outdoor Education Program and a founding member of the Feather River Land Trust. Rob takes pride in his Feather River roots and can often be seen rock climbing, rafting or skiing the backcountry with his friends.
