I want the Land Trust to continue long after my life so my grandkids can bring their grandkids here to enjoy the beauty and magic of this place and know their grandparents made a difference in this lifetime.

—Clare Churchill, Legacy Circle Member

I am in constant awe of the unique and gripping majesty that is the Feather River region. FRLT's mission to care for and protect the special lands of the watershed in perpetuity is why I became a Land Trust member.

—Megan Colosimo, Monthly Donor

I give to the Feather River Land Trust because I like what you do. I love the passion you have for good projects, like protecting the Olsen Barn, and keeping these lands pristine for our grandkids and their grandkids.

IRA charitable contributions

A gift to the land with a tax benefit

If you're 70 1/2 or older, a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), or an IRA charitable “rollover gift,” can offer a tax benefit while protecting healthy habitats for current and future generations—human and wild.

How to make an IRA distribution

When you turn 72, you’re required* to withdraw a minimum distribution from your retirement account each year. You may be able to donate all or a portion of your minimum distribution, tax-free, to a qualified charity, like Feather River Land Trust.

We’re pleased to work with you and/or your tax advisor to accept your gift from a qualified charitable distribution and send you an acknowledgement letter for your tax records.

Feather River Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our taxpayer identification number is: 68-0449687.

* NOTE: This is not intended as definitive tax or legal advice. We recommend you consult your advisors with any questions about your particular situation.

For conservation to be successful it has to be part of the fiber of the community. FRLT's strength is that they live and breathe this idea.
