Sierra Valley Preserve
A day of community science with the nonprofit group Adventure Scientists! We will be collecting field samples for a soil and insect study of California's biodiversity.

July 17 | Children's Summer Art Program: Watercolor Trout
Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center
Join in on our Children's Summer Art Program, led by Megan Davin and open to kids ages 7 to 12! The July 17 class will focus on painting trout with watercolor. Participation is limited to 25 kids. An adult guardian must also attend.

Join Annaliese Miller, Scientific Illustrator and Graphic Designer, and Jeannette Halderman, Local Botanist lead an informative and interactive workshop on Botanical Illustration.
Workshop is 10am to 2pm, space is limited to 20 individuals. $40/person.

Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center
In partnership with Plumas Arts! Sierra County duo Taylor and Josh of "The Neighboring Valley" will share their music from 7–8pm, followed by an acoustic open mic set. Sign up for the open mic the day of from 6:30–7pm or ahead of time by emailing Plumas Arts at information@plumasarts.org. Doors open at 6:30, $5 suggested donation.
July 25 | Native Plants Communities in Montane Meadows: Adapting to Change
Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center
Local natural resources professional Terri Rust will share her observations of the response of montane meadow plant communities throughout the Sierra Nevada range after several years of extreme conditions from the perspective of meadow vulnerability and resilience at a landscape-level.
