Big Month of Birds
This May, join us for world-class birding, wildflowers, and family fun in Sierra Valley.
Sierra Valley is a paradise for birds and bird lovers alike, with the greatest diversity and abundance of birds in the entire Sierra Nevada. Springtime is the best time to see them, when Sierra Valley’s lush meadows and wetlands are teeming with migratory and breeding birds.
Big Month of Birds: every weekend in May
We invite you to join us at the Sierra Valley Preserve + Nature Center for a month-long celebration of birding and nature’s beauty.

With 3+ events each weekend in May, there’s something for everyone! From nature journaling with artist John Muir Laws, to guided birding by kayak and by land, to kids’ activities, art, and a Bird Blitz to help count all the birds at Sierra Valley Preserve, we hope you’ll join us—for one event or several!
