Public Notice
Since 2015, FRLT has been a nationally accredited land trust. Land trust accreditation is a rigorous third-party evaluation that ensures FRLT, and other accredited land trusts, meet national quality standards for protecting important lands and waters forever. To maintain accreditation, FRLT is required to apply for renewal every five years—to show our commitment to this important work and demonstrate our compliance, improvements, and accomplishments toward best standards and practices.
FRLT is pleased to announce that we are applying for renewal. The public comment period is now open.
During accreditation renewal, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of the applicant’s policies and programs. The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how FRLT complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operations of a land trust (full list of standards available here).
Learn more about the accreditation program and submit a comment. Comments may also be faxed or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments: (fax: 518-587-3183); (mail: 36 Phila Street, Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866). Comments on Feather River Land Trust’s application will be most useful by June 19, 2025.
Thank you for being a valuable member of our land trust community.
