FRLT is proud to share that our status as a nationally accredited land trust has been renewed for another 5 years!
We have been verified to be practicing at the highest conservation standards for the past 10 years by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, the national accrediting body of the Land Trust Alliance. There are over 1,200 active land trusts across the country and 477 accredited land trusts. We are proud to be part of this community. As a small but mighty local land trust, FRLT has helped protect over 100,000 acres of land in one of the most biodiverse regions of California.
Since 2015, FRLT has been a nationally accredited land trust. Land trust accreditation is a rigorous third-party evaluation that ensures FRLT, and other accredited land trusts, meet national quality standards for protecting important lands and waters forever. To maintain accreditation, FRLT is required to apply for renewal every five years—to show our commitment to this important work and demonstrate our compliance, improvements, and accomplishments toward best standards and practices.
During accreditation renewal, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of the applicant’s policies and programs.
Thank you for being a valuable member of our land trust community.
