December 6 | Plant Dyes and Watercolors with Ivy Guild
Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center
Join Reno-based artist Ivy Guild for a natural dyes workshop. In this workshop, we will discuss the basics of natural dyes, mordants, ethical foraging, and creating watercolors. Participants will forage their own materials on the preserve, draw in the outdoors, and watercolor with botanical pigments. $35/person, limited to 25 participants.

With our wonderful crafty guide, Megan Davin, we will make a special craft gift for kids to give to their parents and loved ones. Plus a homemade holiday gift wrapping and card making station! FREE. Children under 6, please come with an adult to help.
January 24 | Hibernation: A talk with Ecophysiologist Hannah Carey
Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center
Ecophysiologist Hannah Carey will share her knowledge of the science behind hibernation, how hibernators team up with their gut microbes to recycle nutrients during the long winter fast, and the insights into human health that may be gained from discoveries in hibernation biology. Doors open at 4pm, talk begins at 4:30pm.

Join Sierra Valley local Cindy Noble every Wednesday afternoon for a restorative nature-based yoga workshop, in the beautiful events space of the Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center!
FRLT Nature Journaling Club
Led by volunteer Denise Battagin, sketch the seasonal beauty, learn about the landscape, meet and journal with new people across the watershed at all five FRLT public preserves! Perfect for all skill levels and all ages (little ones must have an adult chaperone).
