Satuday, April 20th, 2019

Start time: 8:30am  (plan to be out for about 1.5 hours)

Location: meet at the Bike Path entrance directly across from the Quincy High School gym parking lot

Join FRLT for a family-friendly walk at the Leonhardt Ranch Learning Landscapes property in American Valley. This public-use trail and property was conserved by your local land trust in 2012 as an outdoor classroom for Quincy schools. Walk with Gabe Miller, Stewardship Director, and explore the wildlife and natural features along Boyle Creek. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and be prepared for the elements. The event will only be cancelled if there is extreme weather (a little drizzle is ok!).

Expect big views of Claremont, Spanish Peak, and Grizzly Ridge from the valley trail.

No prior birding experience is necessary. Bring binoculars if you have them (some will be available to borrow) and your curiosity! Children are encouraged but please no fur-babies (dogs) as this property is nesting habitat for a variety of our feathered friends.

The Birds and Beavers walk will be on relatively flat terrain with approximately 1.75 miles traveled round trip. If you have questions about conditions or to learn more please contact the FRLT office Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. 530-283-5758
